Resources for Students
Alice: Created by faculty at Carnegie Mellon, this free educational software teaches children the basics of computer programming.
Cricket Magazine Group: This publishing house offers fourteen different advertisement-free, high quality magazines for toddlers through teenagers. Some of their magazines focus on special interests, including archeology, American history, science, world history.
Conceptis Puzzles: This site offers thousands of logic puzzles online.
Geocaching: This site is devoted to the real-world outdoor treasure-hunting game of geocaching.
Hoagies Kids & Teens Page: This page includes a variety of resources for children, including reading lists, contests and awards, and links to activities on the web.
Letterbox: Letterboxing is a low-tech version of geocaching.
Virtual Stock Exchange: This site offers a free online stock market game.
xtranormal: If you can type, you can make movies on this site.

Davidson Institute for Talent Development: This non-profit organization offers advocacy and resources for profoundly-gifted children.
Hoagies Gifted Education Page: The Hoagies website is a clearinghouse of articles, resources, and links about gifted issues.
National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC): This page is the starting point within NAGC’s website for parents, and includes resources regarding achievement, assessment, developmental stages, social and emotional issues, and recommended books.
Parenting Gifted Children: This page provides a list of books and articles of interest to parents of gifted children.
: This magazine is a publication of NAGC, and contains articles and resources that help parents of gifted children develop their potential to the fullest.
Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG): SENG is dedicated to fostering environments in which gifted adults and children, in all their diversity, understand and accept themselves and are understood, valued, nurtured, and supported by their families, schools, workplaces and communities. Their mission is to empower families and communities to guide gifted and talented individuals to reach their goals: intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. SENG holds an annual conference as well as periodic workshops and webinars that address the unique situations of gifted individuals.
